Lessons From the Life of David - (3)

God testified concerning David: 'I have found David... a man after My own heart, who will do everything I want him to do.'- [Acts 13:22]
v23.From the David's descendants God has brought to Israel the Saviour Jesus as he promised. Before that John preached about repentance and baptism.....

When God says that about someone you'd be wise to observe that person's life David started out as a shepherd and ended up as King. Shepherds were so low on the social spectrum, they couldn't testify in a court of law because their word wasn't considered reliable. Yet David ended up writing the most widely read psalms of all time. God rewrites all our past and show us the future !

There are two important lessons here :-

(1) Don't rush to judgement -
It's not over until God says it's over ! A verification of God's justice is that won't allow us to escape the consequences; and testimony to His love is that will never let us go. There is a warning to every transgressor...?

(2) God can bring good out of what seems like a bad situation -
He can take every experience we've been through and make it good for us - either your own good or the good of others. Bottom line is He can make 'all things work together for common good'.

The Parable of the Talents - [Matthew 25:14-30]

Jesus tells the parable of the loaned money to teach about a diligent servant remaining watchful about the 'Return of the Master' for the final judgment.

"Then pay attention to how you listen; for those who have, more will be given; and from those who do not have, even what they seem to have will be taken away" - v.29

God rewards faithfulness. Those who bear no fruit for God's kingdom cannot expect to be treated the same way as those who served diligently.

May God give us wisdom to discern the right from the wrongs in our life, Amen
