"BLESSED ON THE JOB" - Deuteronomy 28:8
The Blessings for Obedience
'The LORD will command the blessing upon you in all that you undertake and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you'- Deut.28
THE WORD vocation comes from the Latin word 'vacare' which means 'spiritual calling'. Every vocation, regardless of what it is, is a calling from God. And once we start to see the job in that light, we'll find it easier to believe God wants to bless us on the job. So with that in mind we need to follow the assignments :--
(1) Recognise God as our true employer - Ephesians 6:7-8
'Serve wholeheartedly, as if we were serving the LORD, not men, because we know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does'.
(2) Pursue work compatible with your gifts - 1 Peter 4:11
'If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised'- When we work to help others, they will see Jesus in us and praise him.
(3) Learn everything possible about the job - Proverb 1:5
'Let the wise listen and add to their learning and let the discerning get guidance'- Don't be a know-it-all, instead be open to the advice of others valuable insight and counsel.
(4) See work as God's gift, not punishment - Ecclesiastes 5:19
'When God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work - this is a gift of God'- We should focus on the Giver than the gift.
(5) Use criticism to your advantage - Proverb 13:18
'Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured'- The next time someone criticizes you, listen to learn something.
(6) Do more than what's expected of you - Matthew 5:41
'If anyone wants to sue you and take your coat, give your cloak as well; and if anyone forces you to go one mile, go also the second mile'- Retaliation by giving is better than demanding... !
(7) See the LORD as our work partner - Proverb 1:7-9
In this age of information, knowledge is plentiful, but wisdom is scarce. It is a basic attitude that affects every aspect of our life. Faith in God should be the controlling principle for our understanding of the world, our attitudes and actions.
"Trust in God - he will make us truly wise": Be Christ-conscious throughout the day as we perform our duties, and 'the LORD will command the blessing upon everything we set our heart and mind set on this land.

Jesus Prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane
"Abba, Father, he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will , but what you will." - St Matthew 26:39
A DISCOURSE ON GIVING OURSELVES TO PRAYER AND THE WORD...[Acts 6:4]
Jesus was in great anguish over his approaching physical separation from the Father and the death for the sins of the world. The divine course was set, but he in his human nature still struggled. Because of this anguish Jesus experienced, he can relate to our suffering, too...
Jesus' strength to obey came from his relationship with God the Father, who is also the source of our strength.
The sinless Son of God took our sins upon himself to save us from suffering and separation -
Jesus was not rebelling against his Father's will when he asked that the cup of suffering and separation be taken away. In fact, he reaffirmed his desire to do God's will by saying,"Yet not as I will, but as you will." This prayer reveals to us a greater theme here...
In times of suffering sometimes we wish to knew the reason for our anguish and suffering - Even though Jesus knew what lay ahead of him, his pain was intense... What does it take to be able to say "as you will" ? It takes a firm trust in God's plans; it takes prayer and obedience each step of the way.
There is an interesting irony to this episode - Like the thief crucified with Jesus on the right hand side reaffirmed his desire to do God's will on the second coming; we act as though our sin disqualifies us from the Grace of God...! That is the only thing that qualifies us...!!
Jesus told his disciples,"If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it"- [St Matthew 16:24]
When we try to save ourselves, we forfeit the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ alone.
We cannot take God's grace for granted, that is self-righteous attempt to earn grace by works.
So salvation, by grace through faith, and this is not our own doing: It is the Gift of God - (see Ephesians 2:8-9)

AMAZING GRACE....... (1)
SAVING GRACE of GOD
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, PEACE and His grace be with us all..... The Bible says God 'has blessed us with every spiritual blessing'[Ephesians 1:3] One of the reasons we don't recognise the blessings of God in our lives is that we confuse the means of delivery with the source. If something doesn't miraculously fall into our lap, we think it didn't come from God. But we must always remember that they are only the carriers of blessing, while He is the source of it (see Psalm 31:19) When we pray Thubden-1 'For the living Spiritual Fathers'..... ruling the Holy Church of God in the four corners of the earth: our holy honourable and blessed Catholicos Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II Bava Thirumeni should be upheld as God's messenger everytime. Each child of God is unique: 'Before you were born I set you apart'[Jeremiah 1:5] We need to know that God has a mission for each one of us, but the environment and human experience in shaping who we are and how we think, depends on the choices we make in each moments of our life is a personal testimony..... Ultimately, every Orthodox christian prays for the 'Gift of Perfection' so pleasing to thee, and so worthy of Thy divinity. It is not how long OR how we lead our lives, but through FAITH and how it is closed by the Divine. Again, pray to the Supreme Good to make us worthy to praise and glorify Thy name, now and at all times, for ever and ever, Amen

Fight your battles with Prayers -
Commemoration of God Inspired Victory - [Exodus 17:8] Moses said to Joshua,"Choose some men for us and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand"- (v.11) So Joshua fought as Moses had ordered, and the Israelites were winning, but whenever Moses lowered his hands the Amalekites prevailed.......
(v12) Aaron and Hur held up his hands, on both sides until the sun set - And they won the war; LORD said to Moses: "Write down this as a reminder in a book and recite it in the hearing of Joshua"- An alter was built there and called it "The banner of the LORD" +
The Difference Between Samson And SAMUEL - [1 Samuel 12:12]
Samson repeatedly dishonoured the Lord by his actions and his lifestyle. That's because he had no regard for God's honour. Whereas, Samuel said to his people, 'The LORD your God was your king' - Honouring God was the highest priority.
The Lesson for everyone steps behind a pulpit is this: Their motive should be to make God look good, not to boost the self-ego with flattering propaganda....... !
The truth is that without the power of God's indwelling Spirit, none of us have what it takes to do the job, and we must never forget that.......
The Bible says,'For the LORD is the God of Knowledge; and by Him actions are weighed'- (1Samuel 2:3) - Samson did not realise that the Lord had departed from him (Judg.16:20)
ST Paul admonishes the Corinth Church - [1 Corinthians 13:13]
When Paul wrote of knowing "fully" well that he was referring to when we must see Christ face to face. God gives believers spiritual gifts for their lives on earth in order to build up, serve, and strengthen fellow Christians. The spiritual gifts are for the church. Today, people are still confused about love..... The greatest of all human qualities is an attribute of God himself (1 John 4:8) - 'Love Is Indispensable In Life'
Faith - The foundation of stead fast TRUST in God and content of His messages -
Hope - The unswerving attitude and FOCUS towards selfless service to others -
Love - When faith and hope are in line, we are free to love extravagantly -
<<< DOES OUR FAITH FULLY EXPRESS ITSELF IN LOVING OTHERS.....??>>>
